A planning application has been submitted for the Mallard site to deliver 85 new homes for the island.
The site is being brought forward by developers Infinity Construction, in partnership with Guernsey Housing Association (GHA).
The proposed development would provide a total of 85 homes, 69 of which would be affordable homes submitted by GHA. The remaining homes will be privately owned, creating a mixed tenure development.
Each home across the site would be built to a similar design.
Vic Slade, Chief Executive of GHA, said: 'Submitting the planning application is the first step towards providing much-needed new homes for the island, and we're really pleased to be working in partnership with Infinity Construction again. By working together, we can provide a mix of both affordable and private homes, which means we can tackle housing needs across different tenures, rather than just one or the other. This is an important step as it's the first of the various approvals we need to take the project forward.'
Paul Nobes, Managing Director, Infinity Group, added: ‘Getting to this stage has taken a huge amount of collaboration and expertise from everyone involved. I’d like to thank the Infinity Group team, Cheila and Andrew from Lovell Ozanne, and the Mallard representatives for the work they’ve put into shaping the scheme. We’re excited to continue working with GHA to deliver high-quality new homes for the island.’
