Allowing you to live on your own with trained people onsite to offer you care and support
Extra care housing allows you to live in your own apartment but have the reassurance of trained on-site staff who can offer you care and support in a way that’s tailored to meet your needs.
You might want staff to support you by helping you to manage your finances, help with shopping lists, assist you to do housework, access local services or keep in touch with family and friends. And, while staff cannot provide nursing care, they can help you with getting up, getting dressed, preparing food, bathing or toileting; the nature of the care and support changes as your needs change.
The GHA offers extra care residents rented or partial ownership apartments. The GHA's two extra care developments are at Le Grand Courtil in St Martin's and La Nouvelle Maraitaine in the Vale. The GHA manages and maintains both developments with Health & Social Care providing the care and support service.
