The cost depends on the size of the rented flat. In Extra Care, the vast majority are one bedroom flats.
In 2026, these figures are estimated with a balcony:
one-bedroom flats will be rented out at £247.40 a week
two-bedroom flat will be rented out at £312.04 a week
On top of these figures, you will have to pay utilities, waste, rates and insurance.
Rents are reviewed annually. Tenants will be expected to pay rent weekly or monthly by direct debit, standing order, or via the post office.
Included in your rent is a service charge. The service charge helps pay for the maintenance of your property.
Help with costs
Residents on low incomes can apply for financial assistance from the Employment and Social Security via the Income Support Scheme which can be contacted on 732480. Residents living in partial ownership flats pay a rent based on the share of the property owned by GHA.
