Guernsey Housing Association (GHA) is inviting current deputies and election candidates to attend its Town Hall event on Wednesday 14th May, aimed at building a clearer understanding of GHA and its affordable housing provisionon the island.
The event is for deputies and prospective candidates only and will provide a platform for candidates to ask questionsdirectly to GHA and share views and concerns.It’s also a chance for GHA to educate and share insights into how GHA works, the role it plays in the delivery of affordable housing and address some of the common misconceptions that have emergedthrough public discussion.
Vic Slade, Chief Executive of GHA, said: ‘Therecontinues to be a lot ofnoise around affordable housing and GHA’s responsibilities, but not all of it is accurate. We want to give deputies and candidates the chance to hear directly from us, ask us questions directly and leave with a better understanding of how affordable housing on the island works.’
Lisa de Kooker, Chief Operating Officer for GHA, added: ‘Affordable housing remainsan important topic to all islandersat the momentand rightly so. If you’re standing for election or already a deputy and want a clearer view of affordable housing in Guernsey and GHA’s role in delivering it, this event is for you.’
