Following Storm Goretti, our teams are currently visiting all GHA sites to check for signs of damage.
We kindly ask all residents to check their own properties and let us know if you notice anything that may need attention.
How to report damage
If you identify any damage, please contact the GHA Maintenance Team by either calling 240866, emailing [email protected] or via your MY GHA app.
More information on how to report a repair and the information we need can be found on our website: https://www.gha.gg/my-home/my-repairs/report-repair
Repair response times
We are currently experiencing a high volume of calls reporting storm-related damage. Please be assured that all reports are being logged, managed, and prioritised.
Due to the island-wide impact of the storm, response times will be longer than usual. Our teams are focusing on making homes safe by working on the most urgent and safety-critical repairs first.
We appreciate your patience and understanding during this period.
Repair responsibilities
Our repairs website page explains:
- what GHA is responsible for maintaining, and
- what residents are responsible for within their homes.
Partial owners are advised to:
- check your lease agreement to confirm your repair responsibilities, and
- review what damage you may need to claim for through your house insurance, in line with the guidelines provided.
Partial Owners – Storm Damage Insurance Claims
- £500 excess applies to all building insurance claims
- Take photos of all damage before any work starts
- You must arrange and manage the repairs yourself
- Pay the contractor directly once works are complete
- Send paid invoices and details to GHA, who will submit the claim
- If your claim is approved by the insurance company, the insurance company will pay you directly, minus the £500 excess
Not covered by the insurance:
❌ Fences and gates damaged by storms
❌ Third-party belongings (e.g. vehicles hit by storm debris - vehicle owners must claim on their own car insurance or cover costs themselves
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding while we work through the effects of the storm. Please continue to check your property and report any concerns promptly.
