October 2024
This autumn and winter, the GHA will be working alongside local construction company, Breton Construction to make safety improvements to a handful of its homes.
The renderboard, which is an outer ‘skin’ on some of the GHA homes will be worked on to remain secure from wind and water damage as we enter intocold and damp seasons.
GHA residents at Rue Jammoneau, Rue Sarchet, Warry’s and CourtilReveaux, have been notified of scaffolding going up around their homes before the end of October. Breton Construction will be leading the project to ensure the utmost safety to the GHA’s tenants.
Vic Slade, CEO of GHA said, ‘We want to make sure that renderboard on potentially affected properties is fixed as securely as it can be before we move into the autumn and winter.
‘We have worked with local surveyors who have prioritised which properties should be worked on, and in what order. We’ve let residents of affected homes know what to expect and when, and that they will see Breton Construction working on site.’
Managing Director of Breton Construction, Brent Green, said, ‘We are pleased to partner with the Guernsey Housing Association to carry out these vital safety works. We will work closely with the client and residents to ensure that the works are carried out correctly, safely and with minimal disruption.’
The GHA is committed to the safety and security of its properties to ensure longevity for its tenants. The company continues to prioritise essential work, especially during the autumn and winter months.
