The GHA would like to congratulate Rachel Copeland on being awarded the British Empire Medal. The prestigious accolade recognises and celebrates people who have made a long-term charitable commitment. Rachel, who is one of the Guernsey Housing Association's board directors, has demonstrated an unwavering dedication to helping the community.
Rachel set up Bright Beginnings Children's Centre as part of a lifelong mission to provide every baby with the best possible start in life. Her tireless work has significantly improved many people's lives in Guernsey, including some of the most vulnerable families.
Chris Hill, Chairman of the Guernsey Housing Association, said: "Rachel is one of our GHA board directors, who gives up her time to help others in our community. She makes a significant contribution to the non-executive unpaid Board in overseeing GHA’s work, providing affordable housing for rent and part purchase for local lower-income people. We couldn't be happier for her; this award is thoroughly deserved."
