New Projects

The Association is working closely with the States Housing Department on a programme of new developments to provide new affordable/social housing.

The current advanced projects are as follows :

Sir John Leale Avenue, Victoria Avenue, St Sampson - 36 homes are now occupied with 22 more to be completed and people moving in, in May and June this year.  The homes are highly energy efficient and fuel bills are about half what they would normally be.  The States Housing Department are nominating people for all the rented homes.

Mont Beauvoir, Clos de Mont Arrive, St Peter Port - the 15 two bedroom bungalows are under construction and due to be finished in October this year.  These chalet bungalows are designed for older people, with no steps, shower rooms and everything available on the ground floor, but with a second bedroom in the large roof space if needed, for a carer, or a more able partner.

Le Rue Clouet, Grand Bouet, St Peter Port - construction started in April 2010 on 55 apartments, with 39 one bedroom and 16 two bedroom.  The apartments will be completed from July 2011 until November 2011.  We aim to rent 39 apartments and sell 16 on a partial ownership basis.  The ground floor accommodation will be offered for rent to people over 65 years of age.  The homes will be highly insulated and have solar generated hot water, reducing resident's fuel costs.

13 to 16 Jardin de Haut (formerly the Petit Bouet estate), Mont Arrive, St Peter Port - we are acquiring 4 small houses from the States Housing Department and modernising them to sell on as 4 one bedroom partial ownership houses.  Work could start this summer with the houses ready for sale in the spring of 2011.

Baubigny Arsenal, St Sampson - we will be modernising the 2 residential wings of the Arsenal to create 6 houses and 4 apartments for rent.  Refurbishment work could start in November this year with completion around October 2011.

We are working closely with the States Housing Department on a programme of new housing to help towards meeting the targets in the States Corporate Housing Programme.

We know there is an increasing demand for 3 bedroom partial ownership homes and we are looking to build these into the next development site.
