Rue Jamouneau and Rue Sarchet, Grand Bouet - we are building 80 properties, comprising 60 houses and 20 flats. To date, 50 properties have been completed and occupied. The remaining 58 homes will complete by December 2013.
La Nouvelle Maraitaine, Vale - work started on site in September 2012 with RG Falla to build 51 flats and communal facilities for people who cannot live independently in their own home and need on-hand care and support. This new Extra Care housing is being built adjacent to the existing Care Home, many of the residents will move across to the new flats once it is completed in Summer 2014. A Day Centre for 20 people with dementia is also being provided for HSSD to manage.We are again specifying a highly insulated building to keep tenants fuel costs down. The residents and wider public can benefit from a restaurant, lounge, hairdresser, and other facilities. The care and support will be provided by the Housing Department with GHA managing and maintaining the building and tenancies.
Le Grand Courtil, St Martin - just like La Nouvelle Maraitaine this involves building a new Extra Care housing development next to the existing Care Home. At Le Grand Courtil we will provide 63 flats and communal facilities for people who can benefit from the care and support of this new housing. We started on-site in September 2012 with a completion of the main building in Autumn 2014. Just like at La Nouvelle Maraitaine, GHA will manage the building whilst the Housing Department provide the personal care and support.
Old Boys Grammar School, Brock Road - we have started construction of the 40 houses and flats. We are converting and refurbishing the oldest part of the school, the 1893 section of the building, into 10 houses and will build 30 new houses and flats to the rear. Completion of the build will be by December 2014. We will provide 14 partial ownership and 26 rented properties.
South Legion Site, Route des Coutures, St Martin (to be called Metivier House) - Construction started in October 2013 by JW Rihoy for 14 flats, as sheltered housing, and will be completed during November 2014.
Longfield School Centre site, off Maurepas Road - We have planning approval for 15 houses on the old Longfield Centre site, forming a small clos, off the Maurepas Road. The site is located on the western boundary of the Amherst School. We will provide 10 houses for rent and 5 houses for partial ownership. The current anticipated start of construction is February 2014, with completion by February 2015.
Cour du Parc - Refurbishment started in October 2013 with RG Falla, and completion is due in November 2014. We are refurbishing this eleven storey block of flats to provide 50 one and two bedroom flats for partial ownership and social rental, and potentially for key workers also. The building will be externally insulated, re-clad, and modernised throughout. The building will be given a new lease of life with a second lift, increased energy efficiency, and use of solar panels on the roof. We are aiming to provide 35 flats for rental and 15 flats for partial ownership.
Currently we are finishing off the Rue Jamouneau site by December 2013 and in addition have 5 developments providing another 221 homes, with over £50 million of building work underway with local main contractors (J.W. Rihoy, R.G. Falla and C.A. Duquemin).
